Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Medical Assistants to support daily clinic operations and ensure seamless patient care. This role involves a combination of administrative, diagnostic, and clinical coordination duties within a fast-paced cardiology practice. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to maintaining a high standard of patient service.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinic & Diagnostic Coordination:

  • Review and prepare clinic schedules (Clinic/Ox) daily and for upcoming weeks

  • Check each upcoming patient for required studies, EKGs, or hospital records

  • Identify and collect all diagnostic results related to scheduled patients

  • Ensure orders are placed for diagnostics; identify appropriate covering diagnoses if needed

  • Follow up on add-ons for diagnostic studies and update appointments accordingly

  • Confirm and update insurance coverage, especially for Holter monitors

Patient Record & Communication Management:

  • Input missing hospital records and diagnostic reads into EMR

  • Check and respond to faxes and emails

  • Monitor and manage clinical inbox daily; ensure all items are addressed and closed by end of day

  • Review CAM reports and flag any abnormalities for provider review

  • Manage refill requests and prior authorizations for prescriptions

  • Assist patients with medication assistance programs as needed

Clinical Support & Patient Interaction:

  • Triage patients and prepare for clinical visits

  • Perform and upload Holter/Event monitor studies; place monitors as needed

  • Clean and maintain in-house Holters

  • Draw labs, confirm orders, follow up on lab results

  • Complete any required forms or clearances related to diagnostics

  • Perform stress tests as assigned

  • Schedule follow-up appointments and manage no-show patient diagnostics

Administrative Duties:

  • Ensure diagnostic forms are printed and ready when needed

  • Prepare any medication or device samples for pick-up

  • Support overall clinical operations and maintain compliance with documentation and quality care standards

Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent clinical training

  • 2 years of experience in a cardiology or high-volume specialty clinic preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
