POSITION PURPOSE:

The Warehouse General Labor employee supports daily warehouse, yard, and inventory operations by receiving, storing, moving, packaging, and shipping materials and equipment. This position assists in maintaining accurate inventory, organizing warehouse and yard areas, preparing materials for shipment, and supporting project and operational requirements. The role requires safe material handling practices, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physical labor in a warehouse environment.

Warehouse, Yard, and Inventory

  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the warehouse, staging areas, and yard.
  • Assists with receiving, unloading, inspecting, and storing incoming materials and equipment.
  • Verifies quantities and condition of materials received against packing slips and shipping documentation.
  • Moves, organizes, and stages materials for warehouse operations and project support activities.
  • Assists with inventory counts, cycle counts, and periodic inventory reconciliations.
  • Supports material kitting activities by gathering and preparing materials for shipment or project requirements.
  • Packages, labels, and prepare materials and equipment for shipment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Loads and unloads trucks, ensuring materials are handled safely and securely.
  • Assists with maintaining inventory records and related warehouse documentation.
  • Reports damaged, missing, or non-conforming materials to warehouse management.
  • Operates warehouse equipment and material handling devices as authorized and trained.
  • Assists with organizing and maintaining storage locations to ensure efficient material retrieval and accountability.
  • Supports the movement of materials between warehouse locations, job sites, and staging areas as required.
  • Follows established safety procedures and uses appropriate material handling and packaging methods.
  • Assists with office and warehouse consumable inventory stocking and replenishment.
  • Performs general warehouse housekeeping duties and other labor tasks as assigned.

Safety

  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program.
  • Attend daily and weekly safety meetings, on-site field safety briefings and inspections.
  • Operate equipment within federal, state, local, and company regulations.
  • Ensure equipment operators possess the requisite certificate for equipment use
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself or endanger the wellbeing of others.
  • Cooperate with safety personnel, supervisors, managers, and investigators to ensure proper procedures are carried out according with the company and customer’s safety policies.
  • Identify and report safety violations to safety personnel, supervisors, managers.

Support safety meetings, training sessions, and inspections.

Driving

  • Operate a company vehicle in accordance with local laws/regulations.
  • Operate the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
  • Keep assigned vehicle clean and orderly.

Report maintenance requirements and/or damage in a timely manner.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This work is conducted in a typical office and outdoor environment. The office typically uses cleaning supplies to eliminate or minimize exposure to infectious diseases or safety hazards. S&K maintains work equipment and workstation design through interactive discussion, and we manage the environment through temperature, humidity, light, noise, ventilation, and space. The employee should expect a typical level of office noise such as phones, hallway discussions, and overhead announcements or smells, such as those from a shared lunchroom if one is available.

When working in the warehouse, all safety equipment and requirements must be followed at all times. The warehouse is prone to weather fluctuations and can vary degrees and will require physical labor to manage inventory and incoming or outgoing shipments.
