As a Field Heavy Equipment Technician at Quinn Caterpillar, you will diagnose, service, maintain, and repair Caterpillar® heavy equipment and other machinery used across construction, industrial, and rental operations. About the Role
As a Field Heavy Equipment Technician, you will travel to customer job sites to diagnose, service, maintain, and repair heavy equipment and machinery. You will work independently from a fully equipped service truck, applying your mechanical expertise to ensure equipment uptime and customer satisfaction.
Position: Field Heavy Equipment Technician
Work Location: Oxnard, CA
Pay: $33.80 – $57.50 per hour, depending on experience and education
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on Caterpillar® and related equipment
- Use specialized tools and diagnostic software to complete high-quality repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime
- Maintain accurate service records, repair orders, and inspection documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal service teams regarding repairs and equipment status
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures at every job site
- Continuously develop technical skills through training and hands-on experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service while resolving mechanical issues in the field
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as Cat Electronic Technician (ET) and other testing equipment
