Daycare teacher

The Daycare Teacher is responsible for delivering a balanced curriculum focused on social-emotional and academic development within a Headstart program. Working in a small team of 1-3 teachers, the teacher supports children’s growth through well-planned lessons, behavior management, and effective communication with parents and staff. This role reports to the Center Director and Program Coordinator and involves occasional local travel.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classroom activities and ensure a safe environment
• Develop and implement lesson plans focused on social-emotional and academic growth
• Conduct child assessments to monitor development progress
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding child progress and concerns
• Facilitate engaging activities that promote learning and development
• Manage children’s behavior using positive guidance strategies
• Monitor health, hygiene, and safety protocols
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and incidents
• Collaborate effectively with a small team of teachers and staff
