Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s personal assistive devices
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal delivery or feeding as necessary
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans and document medication administration accurately
- Support residents with cognitive impairments by implementing memory care strategies and engaging them in meaningful activities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control protocols
- Document patient observations, update care plans, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote social interaction and mental well-being
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community outings when required
- Use proper techniques for heavy lifting and patient transfers to ensure safety for both residents and staff
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, home health, hospice care, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and basic nursing skills
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or dementia/cognitive impairment care are a plus
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, Alzheimer’s disease, or other memory-related conditions is preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
