Locksmith / Hardware Specialist
Job Description
You will be responsible for installing, repairing, & troubleshooting all types of electrified & mechanical commercial locking hardware, automatic door operators, and other specialized hardware configurations such as interlock systems. Performing door adjustments & replacements of hollow metal, storefront glass, & Herculite type doors. As well as performing inspections on doors to verify compliance with AAADM & NFPA standards.

Being able to see the big picture rather than focusing on just the problem is key to our success. The same attention to detail applies to keeping your truck stocked, clean and ready to respond to any service call that comes in as well as when filling out your service tickets and maintaining your calendar
- A basic understanding of locksmithing & locking hardware is required. Must be proficient with power & hand tools & the proper use PPE
- Familiarity with low voltage systems is also required; the ability to use a multimeter to take voltage and ohm's readings while troubleshooting and be able to use the proper tools when cutting, stripping, or crippling wires
- You must have strong troubleshooting & critical thinking skills
- Additional training or certifications in AAADM, NFPA, ADA, OSHA10, etc are a bonus
- You need to be able to work well with the team, but also by yourself. The ability to manage your time efficiently is key to your success with our company
- You must be able to read & write English, be familiar with Apple computers & software such as numbers, pages, & keynote. Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate verbally & in written form, in a clear and concise manner
- You must possess basic math skills & the ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures, squares, & calipers
- You must be a self motivated individual, willing to learn new skills and grow both personally & professionally
- Normal working hours are from 0700 to 1530, Monday thru Friday
- No "On Call" and a minimum of overtime; so nights & weekends are yours. There will be, on occasion, the need to put in extra time to take care of a customer need, but it is the exception and not the rule
- Service vehicles, tools, uniforms, cell phones & iPads are supplied by the company
- Holidays include: New Years Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Friday after Thanksgiving, & Christmas
- You must be a US Citizen
- You must have a High School diploma or equivalent
- You must be able to satisfy the registration standards according to the requirements of the Private Security Bureau (PSB) - required FBI background check and fingerprints on file with the state
- You must pass pre-employment drug screening
- You must pass SSN check
- You must have a current Drivers License and a clean driving record with no points, accidents, or DUI's
- You must be able to handle the physical workload and perform physical labor for extended periods of time
We provide on demand repair & maintenance on door & locking hardware systems throughout San Diego, Kern, Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, & Ventura Counties. The majority of our customers are in the Biomed, property management, construction, education, government, DOD, & systems integration sectors.
