We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Primary Care Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will support providers in delivering high-quality patient care by performing both clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced primary care setting. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, professional, and committed to maintaining excellent standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
  • Assist providers during patient examinations and treatments.
  • Administer injections, vaccinations, and medications as directed.
  • Perform basic laboratory procedures, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
  • Conduct EKGs and other diagnostic tests as required.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment.
  • Verify patient information and update electronic medical records - ATHENA
  • Process prescription refill requests according to office protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a primary care, family medicine, or internal medicine setting.
  • Experience with vaccine administration and phlebotomy.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
