Working Residential Superintendent

Job Description

Colonial Construction is looking for an experienced Working Residential Superintendent to lead custom and high-end residential projects from the ground up. This is a hands-on role — you won't just be managing from a clipboard. We need someone who can jump in alongside our trades when needed, while also directing schedules, subcontractors, and quality on-site every day.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience supervising custom or high-end residential construction, a strong working knowledge of the trades, and the leadership skills to keep a job site running safely, on schedule, and to a high standard of craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

- Perform hands-on trade work alongside subcontractors and crews when needed to keep projects moving

- Supervise day-to-day field operations on custom residential job sites

- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, material deliveries, and equipment

- Read and interpret blueprints, specs, and construction documents

- Conduct quality control inspections and manage punch lists to ensure work meets code and company standards

- Ensure compliance with local building codes, permits, and safety regulations

- Communicate daily with project managers on progress, schedule changes, and issues

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site

- Troubleshoot field issues and make on-the-spot decisions to keep projects on track

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience as a residential superintendent or lead foreman on custom/high-end home construction

- Strong hands-on trade experience (carpentry, framing, finish work, or similar)

- Working knowledge of residential building codes and permitting processes

- Ability to read blueprints and construction documents

- Strong leadership, scheduling, and communication skills

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
