Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and certified Automotive Service Technician / Mechanic to join our busy dealership service team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain customer and dealership vehicles while providing high-quality workmanship. This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostics & Repair: Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle issues using specialized dealership diagnostic equipment.
- Full-Service Repairs: Repair or replace engines, transmissions, steering systems, suspension components, and advanced electronic systems.
- Routine Maintenance: Complete routine multi-point inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, and tune-ups.
- Compliance & Standards: Conduct manufacturer-recommended maintenance and warranty repairs following strict dealership and safety standards.
- Quality Assurance: Test-drive vehicles to verify the effectiveness of repairs and identify any secondary performance concerns.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, clear records of inspections, digital vehicle reports, parts used, and labor performed.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Certification: Active ASE Certification is highly preferred; Manufacturer-specific certifications are a major plus.
- Experience: Proven track record as an automotive technician or dealership mechanic.
- Technical Skill: Strong working knowledge of modern automotive systems, diagnostic computers, and repair procedures.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving record (required for test-driving).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a standard indoor shop environment.
Preferred Qualifications (A Plus)
- Experience working specifically within a dealership environment.
- Manufacturer-specific training (e.g., Ford, Toyota, GM, Stellantis, etc.).
- ASE Master Technician status.
- Experience or certifications handling hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) systems.
