We are looking for a commercial bricklayer who is responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining masonry structures on commercial and industrial job sites such as office buildings, schools, hospitals, and retail centers. This role requires precision, speed, and the ability to work as part of a larger construction crew.
Pay: $27-$38
Key Responsibilities
Lay brick, concrete block, and stone for commercial structures.
Build structural and non-structural walls, partitions, and facades.
Install brick veneer and exterior cladding systems.
Work with scaffolding, lifts, and other construction equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Mix mortar or operate machinery that prepares mortar
Ensure alignment, level, and structural integrity of masonry
Perform waterproofing and insulation integration where required
Repair or restore existing commercial masonry
Follow OSHA safety standards and company
Schools and universities Warehouses and industrial buildings
Office complexes and retail centers
Hospitals and municipal buildings
Parking structures and large retaining walls
Required Skills & Qualifications
2-5+ years of masonry experience (commercial preferred)
Ability to read blueprints and construction plans
Skilled in block laying and large-scale
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Physical strength and stamina
Knowledge of safety regulations and PP
Prescreening Questions:
Have you worked more with brick, block, stone, or veneer systems?
What was the largest masonry project you’ve worked on?
Have you worked as part of a large crew? What was your role?
Walk me through your process for laying block or brick and ensuring it stays level and plumb.
What’s the difference between structural and non-structural walls?
Can you read blueprints and masonry layout drawings?
Have you worked on large commercial jobs with multiple trades on site?
How do you coordinate your work around electricians, plumbers, steel crews, or framers?
What production expectations have you worked under (square footage, block count, deadlines)?
How do you maintain speed without sacrificing quality?
This role requires lifting, bending, climbing, and working in heat/cold—are you comfortable with that?
Are you able to work overtime or weekends if the project requires it?
How is your attendance history on past jobs?
Do you have reliable transportation to commercial job sites?
