Assistant General Manager - Quick Service Restaurant

Position Summary

A high-volume Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) in Carlisle, PA, is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to assist in driving daily operations, optimizing peak-hour workflow, and developing line staff. This operational role requires a strong floor presence focused on drive-thru/counter speed of service, labor efficiency, and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities & Operational Needs

• Shift & Floor Execution: Direct floor operations during high-volume meal rushes; manage speed-of-service metrics for drive-thru and front counter operations while enforcing product quality controls.
• Cost Control & Inventory: Monitor daily inventory levels, manage food waste control, conduct stock orders, and execute weekly labor scheduling to meet cost-of-goods and labor targets.
• Staff Leadership & Training: Oversee onboarding, hands-on training, and performance reviews for team members and shift leaders to minimize turnover and build an internal promotion pipeline.
• Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with health department regulations, strict food safety protocols, and proper equipment maintenance routines.
• Guest Service & Cleanliness: Address guest inquiries promptly, resolve service bottlenecks, and maintain store cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the shift.

Position Requirements

• Experience: 2–4 years of Assistant Manager or Co-Manager experience in a high-volume fast-food or QSR environment.
• Technical Skills: Working knowledge of QSR financial principles (labor tracking, food cost control, inventory management, and basic P&L metrics).
• Certifications: ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification preferred (or required upon hire).
• Schedule & Physical: Ability to work a flexible schedule (including evenings, weekends, and holidays), stand for shifts up to 8–10 hours, and lift up to 50 lbs.
