Toddler Teacher

Location: Philadelphia, PA | Full-Time | On-Site

Age Group: Toddlers (2–3 years)

About the Role

We are seeking a warm, patient, and dedicated Toddler Teacher to provide a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages 2–3. You will implement daily learning experiences grounded in PA Early Learning Standards, document each child's growth through Brightwheel, and partner closely with families to support every child's development during this critical stage.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support toddlers' social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development

• Maintain a consistent daily schedule that supports children's routines, transitions, and individual needs

• Provide responsive and nurturing care including diapering, toilet training support, feeding, and rest routines

• Document daily observations, milestones, and reports accurately and on time via Brightwheel

• Communicate professionally with families; all parent messages require director approval before sending

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom in compliance with PA DHS licensing standards

• Participate in staff meetings, department sessions, and required professional development

PA DHS Licensing Requirements

Clearances (required prior to hire)

• PA State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)

• PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 33)

• FBI Criminal Background Check (Act 114)

Health Requirements

• Current TB test (within 2 years)

• Physical/health assessment within 12 months of hire

Training

• Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification (or obtained within 90 days of hire)

• Mandated Reporter training

• 12 hours of annual professional development per PA DHS requirements

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required

• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred, or actively pursuing

• College coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development a plus

• Prior experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare setting preferred
