Construction Estimator

Job Summary

Duties

• Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using industry-standard tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and pricing analysis to determine accurate project budgets.
• Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to negotiate costs, scope changes, and contractual terms effectively.
• Prepare bid proposals that clearly outline scope of work, costs, schedules, and assumptions to support winning bids.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets through effective cost control strategies.
• Assist in contract negotiations and review contractual documents to mitigate risks and clarify project scope.
• Coordinate with construction management teams on site to gather insights on construction site conditions that impact estimates.
• Support project management teams by providing detailed estimates that inform scheduling, resource allocation, and procurement planning.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating with a solid understanding of construction processes and terminology.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and contractual terms.
• Knowledge of construction site operations and construction management principles.
• Ability to perform detailed quantity take-offs and develop accurate cost models.
• Familiarity with contracts, project management practices, and cost control methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
