Cook/Short Order Cook/Barista/Cashier

A short order cook prepares quick-to-cook menu items in a fast-paced environment, often using grills, fryers, and microwaves, while maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring food quality and timely service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work Area Maintenance:
• • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• • Clean food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters.
• • Ensure proper food handling and storage practices.
• Customer Service (in some establishments):
• • Take food orders from customers.
• • Serve food at a counter or table.
• • Process customer bills or payments.
• Other Duties:
• • Restock and manage supplies.
• • Ensure proper use of foodstuffs by dating and rotating perishables.
• • Coordinate timing of food production activities.
• • May be responsible for cleaning their work area, maintaining the cooking surface and tools, filtering and disposing of frying oil.
• Food Preparation:
• • Grill, fry, and cook food items efficiently.
• • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, such as burgers, sandwiches, fries, eggs, and pancakes.
  • Follow recipes and cooking procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Prepare ingredients in advance to expedite cooking.
