DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT: UP TO 5 WEEKS WITH POSSIBILITY TO EXTEND
Job Summary
Responsible for the safe and efficient preparation, painting, and maintenance of products and components in accordance with work orders, specifications, customer requirements, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform surface preparation, including masking and sanding, prior to painting or sandblasting.
- Apply spray coatings, including preparatory undercoatings, preservatives, and lubricants.
- Spray paint small component parts prior to assembly and apply final coatings under general supervision.
- Follow work orders and specifications to determine the required paint system for each job.
- Complete the paint section of in-process documentation for each work order.
- Clean and maintain paint shop equipment, including air lines, fluid lines, paint pots, paint guns, and respirators.
- Maintain and replace paint booth media filters and surface-protectant coatings as needed.
- Properly contain, handle, and dispose of hazardous waste generated through paint shop operations.
- Clean and store empty paint containers for proper disposal.
- Ensure coatings are applied in accordance with company and customer requirements.
- Follow all procedures related to paint waste containment and disposal.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Comply with all company and Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial painting operations.
- Ability to follow work orders, specifications, and established painting procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
