Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

SpektreWorks is seeking a dependable and organized Material Handler to support our UAS production operations. This role is responsible for the physical movement, staging, and issuance of materials and components needed to support production.

A primary responsibility of this position will be moving material from our storage lot into the warehouse and production areas based on manufacturing demand. The Material Handler will work closely with the Inventory Manager and Production team to ensure the correct material and components are issued against work orders and delivered to the appropriate production areas in a timely manner.

This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position involves approximately 50% work performed outdoors in the storage lot and material staging areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Move materials, components, and assemblies from the storage lot to the warehouse and production areas.
  • Stage material based on production priorities and upcoming work orders.
  • Work closely with the Inventory Manager to identify, locate, pull, and issue material required for aircraft production.
  • Issue materials and components against manufacturing work orders while maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Deliver material to designated production areas and ensure production teams have the components needed to complete scheduled work.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining the warehouse, storage lot, and material staging areas.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, and material identification prior to movement or issuance.
  • Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain proper material identification and traceability throughout the material-handling process.
  • Identify damaged, missing, incorrectly labeled, or otherwise discrepant material and notify the Inventory Manager.
  • Safely operate material-handling equipment as required.
  • Support receiving, stocking, kitting, and other inventory activities as production requirements dictate.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe material storage and work areas.
  • Follow company safety procedures and material-handling requirements.
  • Perform other warehouse, inventory, and production-support duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a physically active warehouse and manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift and move materials and components safely throughout the workday.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with part numbers, quantities, and work orders.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn inventory or ERP systems.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills and a willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively with Inventory, Production, Quality, and other operations personnel.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Must be forklift certified (or able to obtain certification prior to or immediately upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in material handling, warehouse operations, inventory control, manufacturing, or production support.
  • Experience working with inventory management or ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience issuing material against manufacturing work orders.
  • Forklift or other material-handling equipment experience.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, defense, or another manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and handle materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, including movement of material between the storage lot, warehouse, and production areas. Approximately 50% of work will be performed outdoors.
  • Ability to safely operate carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, or similar material-handling equipment when trained and authorized.

What Success Looks Like

The successful Material Handler will help ensure that production has the right material, in the right quantity, at the right location, when it is needed. This individual will play an important role in maintaining inventory accuracy while keeping material flowing efficiently from storage through the warehouse and into aircraft production.
