Northland Family Center Preschool is seeking a caring, energetic, and experienced Lead Preschool Teacher to lead our preschool classroom for the 2026-2027 school year.

Our preschool serves children and families in the Northland Community School District and surrounding rural communities. We believe children learn best through positive relationships, play-based exploration, and meaningful family partnerships. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping young children build confidence, independence, social-emotional skills, and kindergarten readiness.

Position Summary

The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality preschool program, creating a safe and engaging learning environment, partnering with families, and supporting the overall success of the preschool program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences
  • Create a positive and engaging classroom environment
  • Support children's academic, social-emotional, and physical development
  • Utilize Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD, and other approved assessment tools
  • Build strong relationships with children and families
  • Conduct family conferences and maintain regular communication with parents
  • Collaborate with Northland Community Schools, Early Childhood Special Education staff, and community partners
  • Maintain compliance with Minnesota licensing requirements
  • Provide day-to-day direction and support to classroom assistants, aides, and volunteers
  • Participate in family events, enrollment activities, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

Applicants must meet Minnesota Rule 3 Teacher qualifications.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children
  • Experience using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD
  • Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Valid Minnesota Driver's License
  • Ability to successfully complete a Minnesota DHS background study

Schedule

  • School-year position
  • Preschool operates Monday through Thursday
  • Additional paid days for classroom preparation, training, family engagement, assessments, and program planning
