Duties

  • Conduct thorough assessments of children’s needs, safety concerns, and family dynamics to develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with child protective services, legal professionals, healthcare providers, and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive support services.
  • Utilize techniques to engage children and families, encouraging positive behavioral changes and fostering trust.
  • Document case progress, service plans, and incident reports accurately in compliance with agency policies in the electronic medical record.


Skills

  • Proven experience with children, including understanding their developmental stages and behavioral health needs.
  • Strong knowledge of child welfare systems, child protective services protocols, and family law procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, demonstrating sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Excellent conflict management skills to navigate complex family dynamics professionally.
  • Familiarity with social work practices, childcare standards, and behavioral health principles.

Qualifications

  • Applicant(s) must be qualified as a CMHP with 3 years experience with a bachelor’s degree or 1 year experience with a master’s degree in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of minors and their families.
  • State license as an LMSW, LLMSW, LMFT, LLMFT, LBSW, LLBSW, LPC, LLPC, TLLP, LLP, LP, RN, or a degree in a human service field from an accredited school. Human service fields can include, but not limited to Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or Social Work.
  • Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and the use of the insured vehicle during work hours.
