Service Technician
Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Service Technician to join our small engine repair team. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of small engines including lawn mowers, chainsaws, generators, trimmers, snow blowers, and other gas-powered equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, diagnose, and repair small engines and related equipment.
Perform regular maintenance and tune-ups on gas and diesel-powered engines.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and customer interactions.
Provide estimates and timelines for repairs when required.
Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues and repairs.
Stay updated on the latest service bulletins, recall notices, and repair techniques.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred.
2+ years of experience in small engine repair or similar mechanical work.
Knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift up to 80lbs and perform physical tasks.
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
Certifications from manufacturers (e.g., Briggs & Stratton, Honda, Kohler).
Welding or fabrication experience.
Experience with both residential and commercial-grade equipment.
