Medical Receptionist

About the Role:
Gulf Coast Heart and Vascular LLC is looking for a friendly and organized Medical Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our cardiology and vascular practice in Chipley, FL. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated healthcare team where your skills make a real difference in patient care every single day.

The position is for two days a week, 8:00am-5:00pm.

Some travel to Panama City may be required from time to time.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner at the front desk
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays and patient payments
• Maintain and update accurate patient records in the EMR/EHR system
• Answer and route incoming phone calls, taking messages as needed
• Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the office
• Handle medical records requests, faxes, and general administrative correspondence

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare front office setting preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance verification, and billing processes
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR software and general office technology
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced clinical environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical office certification a plus
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to patient confidentiality (HIPAA)
