Job Description

Certified Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist (Full-Time – Baytown, TX)

$17 - $21.00 per hour | Bilingual Required | Private Clinic Setting

About the Role

We’re looking for a dependable, bilingual Certified Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist to join our private medical practice in Baytown, TX. This is a full-time, in-person position for someone who’s motivated, professional, and thrives in a fast-paced clinic environment.

If you’re the type of person who takes pride in being punctual, organized, and great with patients — this could be a perfect fit.

Requirements

  • Must live within 30 minutes of Baytown, TX.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) REQUIRED.
  • Computer literacy is a MUST. We use iMac computers and iPads only (no PCs). You’ll be entering detailed documentation that must be approved by the healthcare provider to meet all standards of care.
  • Must have adequate child care at all times. You must have three backup options for child care to avoid missing work except for true emergencies. Work begins promptly at 7:50 AM, and you must be ready for patients when doors open at 8:00 AM (not arriving at 8:00).
  • Must have at least 2 years of recent EMR (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
  • Must have at least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience, drawing 3–5 patients daily, including therapeutic blood draws using an 18-gauge needle.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience performing EKGs.
  • Fast learner, reliable, punctual, and able to move quickly in a busy clinic environment.
  • Able to work a 9-hour shift: 7:50 AM – 6:10 PM (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri).
  • Available every other Saturday: 6:50 AM – 12:15 PM.
  • Full-time schedule, with one weekday off.

What You’ll Do

  • Greet and assist patients and visitors warmly, professionally, and with care.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, take vital signs, measurements, and EKGs, give injections, and accurately document information in EMR.
  • Clean and prepare exam rooms and ensure the clinic is always neat and organized.
  • Verify patient information and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Update patient H&P in the EMR for every visit.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information — personal, medical, and financial.
  • Ensure treatment information is filed properly (both paper and electronic).
  • Keep a daily productivity log using Excel: track patients seen, time spent, visit types, and daily charges to document production.
  • Call, text, or email patients for reminders, no-shows, or management requests.
  • Assist the provider with medical and aesthetic procedures, including weight-loss injections and basic exams.
  • Ensure labs, reports, and charts are complete and ready before the patient arrives.
  • Educate and promote our services — be knowledgeable about each service so you can answer patient questions confidently.
  • Review all documentation before calling the provider into the room.
  • Follow clinic policies and procedures and report any needed changes.
  • Work efficiently with staff to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room use.
  • Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude — you represent the face of the clinic.
  • Complete tasks on time and support team goals.
  • Keep the clinic clean, organized, and patient-ready at all times.

Schedule

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:50 AM – 6:10 PM
