Pay Rate: $53- $55/hr. on W2
Job Description:
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project/Program Manager to lead complex technology and business initiatives within a healthcare or health plan environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects, leading cross-functional teams, engaging senior stakeholders, and driving initiatives from planning through successful delivery.
The successful candidate will be a proactive and strategic leader who can anticipate challenges, manage ambiguity, create structure, and coordinate effectively across business, technology, and external delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple complex technical projects and programs while ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, scope, and budget.
- Serve as a key coordination point between business, technology, operations, and external delivery partners.
- Develop and manage project plans, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and timelines.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed, reviewed, and approved according to established schedules.
- Lead cross-functional teams across IT/Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Customer Service, Finance, Training, and other business functions.
- Manage resources from multiple delivery partners while ensuring work remains within approved scope and allocated hours.
- Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and competing priorities.
- Provide leadership and direction in complex or ambiguous situations and establish clear processes to keep projects on track.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Directors, VPs, executives, business leaders, and other key stakeholders.
- Facilitate project meetings, stakeholder discussions, governance forums, steering committees, and executive reviews.
- Communicate project status, risks, milestones, decisions, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership.
- Influence decisions, resolve conflicts, and drive alignment across teams with competing priorities.
- Take ownership and accountability for overall project and program outcomes.
- Mentor and provide constructive feedback to team members while promoting a high-performing, collaborative environment.
- Proactively identify potential challenges and opportunities and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Support system implementations, business transformation initiatives, organizational change, and technology-driven initiatives as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree, where required.
- 5+ years of experience in project/program management or a related field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proven experience leading large-scale, complex programs with multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management experience.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with Directors, VPs, and executive leadership.
- Strong leadership, communication, presentation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a highly matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and ability to influence teams without direct authority.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining project quality, timelines, and scope.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading system implementations or business transformation programs.
- Experience leading governance forums, steering committees, and executive reporting.
- Experience within the healthcare industry, particularly in:
- Health Plans
- Healthcare Payers
- Health Insurance
- Third-Party Administrators (TPA)
- Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM)
- Claims
- Enrollment
- Benefits Administration
- Experience managing complex initiatives involving multiple business and technology teams.
