Put Away Specialist - Wilkinson Supply Co. Raleigh

Job Summary

The Put Away Specialist is responsible for accurately organizing and storing incoming inventory within the warehouse. This entry-level role ensures products are placed in the correct bins, shelves, or storage areas using barcode scanning equipment and warehouse vehicles such as reach trucks.

Essential Responsibilities

• Receive and scan incoming stock to confirm delivery and product accuracy.

• Place products into assigned inventory locations based on product type and rotation requirements.

• Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, or pallet jacks to transport materials safely.

• Update inventory systems through scanner-based or manual entry.

• Label and organize inventory according to company standards.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

• Report inventory discrepancies, damages, or shortages to warehouse leadership.

• Follow all safety and operational procedures when operating equipment.

• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing priorities.

• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Ability to operate or willingness to learn warehouse equipment like reach trucks.

• Basic knowledge of barcode scanners and inventory systems.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic.

Physical & Work Environment

• Regularly lift, carry, and move boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Operate warehouse equipment such as reach trucks and pallet jacks.

• Stand and walk for up to 10 hours per shift.

• Work in warehouse conditions with variable temperatures and noise.
