The Automotive Technician/Automotive Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet, including trucks, SUVs, passenger cars, and commercial vehicles. This role involves using both generic OBD-II scanners and manual diagnostic procedures to ensure vehicle safety and functionality. Working primarily during day shifts, the technician will collaborate within a small team while also managing tasks independently. Effective customer communication and thorough problem-solving are integral to this position.
Responsibilities
- Perform brake maintenance and repairs on various vehicle types
- Conduct transmission services and preventive maintenance routines
- Repair suspension systems and perform emission testing
- Replace parts accurately and efficiently
- Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical issues
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding vehicle status and work performed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive repair
- Valid Driver's License
- Proficient knowledge of brake systems and preventive maintenance
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service and time management abilities
