Business Development Manager
Location: Illinois or surrounding Midwest states (Estimated up to 50% travel involved; otherwise in Gurnee, IL office)
Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving strategic business development, identifying targets and increasing sales within selected market segments, targeting major OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), Distribution channels and or End Users within the segment for CEJN USA. This role will focus on both prospecting new opportunities and nurturing existing customer relationships to achieve business growth goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with a deep understanding of market prospection, lead generation, and will collaborate closely with internal CEJN teams to create tailored solutions for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute strategies to grow sales within the designated business segment, focusing on OEMs, distribution channels and End users.
• Identify, prospect and prioritize potential customers, building a pipeline of business opportunities.
• Maintain and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with key targets, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Work closely with the sales, engineering, and product teams to provide customers with solutions that meet their specific needs.
• Negotiate contracts, manage pricing strategies, and close deals to achieve revenue goals.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on cooling technologies, providing technical insights to customers and internal teams.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to adapt and refine strategies.
• Regularly report on sales activities, customer interactions, and overall business development efforts to senior leadership.
Key Skills and Requirements:
• Proven experience in business development, market research, lead generation and sales management, or a similar role, particularly with industrial components.
• Strong curiosity & Technical background
• Exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to engage with senior decision-makers.
• Experience in prospecting, managing long sales cycles, and successfully closing deals.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and marketing teams.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a customer-centric approach.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and prospects.
