Financial Administrator opportunity with a local public utility district in the Greenville, SC area for a degreed accounting professional with 3-5+ years of experience. In this role, you will oversee all financial, accounting, and bookkeeping operations for a local government/public utility district, including budgeting, accounts payable, reconciliations, and the annual audit, while also supervising administrative staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years of experience in general accounting, auditing, and payroll
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Prior experience in government, municipal, or public sector accounting is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and audit processes
  • Proficiency with accounting/financial software and standard office equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with leadership, vendors, and staff
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial, accounting, and bookkeeping operations for the organization
  • Manage accounts payable, reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting
  • Coordinate the annual financial audit and prepare related documentation
  • Prepare and present the annual budget to organizational leadership
  • Supervise administrative staff, including performance management and personnel functions
  • Oversee insurance programs, including property, liability, and cyber coverage
  • Attend regular leadership meetings, which may occasionally run past normal business hours
