Sinomax is looking for a network administrator who can also provide support with service tickets. This position is responsible for approximately equal parts network/systems administration and end-user technical support. The role installs, maintains, secures, and troubleshoots the company’s network, server, and endpoint infrastructure while providing timely technical assistance to employees. The position also coordinates with Sinomax Group IT (headquartered in Hong Kong) and technology vendors in China on infrastructure projects, system deployments, and issue resolution.


Specifically, the duties of this position require you to:


  • Design, install, and configure network and security devices, company servers, storage systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Proactively administer, monitor, and maintain network, security, and server systems.
  • Administer and support Cisco, WatchGuard, Aruba, HP, Sundray, Dell, Lenovo, Microsoft, VMware, and related technologies.
  • Monitor the performance and availability of servers, software, hardware, and other IT infrastructure.
  • Support the deployment and updating of antivirus software on company servers and computers.
  • Support CCTV monitoring and physical access-control systems.
  • Provide on-site technical support to end users, including troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, network, and infrastructure-related issues.
  • Receive, document, and categorize requests for technical assistance; gather relevant information and determine appropriate methods of resolution.
  • Exercise sound judgment in resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime, control costs, and maintain user satisfaction.
  • Work with department heads and business leads to develop, map, and execute technology plans supporting business needs.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and business partners on system testing, implementation, and post-implementation support from an information technology perspective.
  • Support the effective deployment of new applications.
  • Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments, and contingency plans.
  • Define and document IT best practices and support procedures.
  • Maintain accurate hardware, software, inventory, and asset-configuration documentation.
  • Assist with the evaluation, recommendation, and negotiation of hardware, telecommunications, and software vendors and solutions.
  • Provide after-hours support for infrastructure-related emergencies and occasional weekend maintenance.
  • Communicate with employees, business partners, and vendors at the appropriate technical level.
  • Coordinate effectively with the Group IT team and IT vendors in China.
  • Perform other duties and special assignments as directed by management.
