About the Role

As a Lead Teacher in our toddler and preschool classrooms, you are the primary caregiver and educator for your assigned group of children. You will plan and deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum, maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment, build warm relationships with families, and model the professionalism and care that defines our center.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Supervise and engage children throughout the day
  • Monitor children’s behavior, progress, and developmental milestones
  • Maintain daily schedules including meals, naps, learning activities, and outdoor play
  • Ensure classroom cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding children’s progress and needs
  • Mentor and support assistant teachers and classroom aides
  • Maintain accurate attendance and classroom records
  • Follow all state licensing regulations and center policies

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • CDA, Associate’s Degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Previous childcare or preschool teaching experience required
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in classroom activities
  • Passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development
  • Knowledge of child development and positive behavior guidance
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Reliable, patient, and organized
