The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs at the plant level. This role is accountable for site EHS performance and regulatory compliance, including safety, environmental, and occupational health programs, and operational excellence at Creative Liquid Coatings, Inc.. The EHS Manager drives risk reduction, ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, and integrates EHS into daily plant operations while serving as the primary site contact for regulatory agencies and audits
Roles and Responsibilities
EHS Strategy & Program Management
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all plant-level EHS programs
- Establish, track, and achieve site-specific EHS objectives, targets, and key performance indicators
- Integrate EHS requirements into daily operations to drive risk reduction and operational excellence
- Ensure all EHS policies, procedures, and programs are current, effective, and consistently applied within the facility
- Drive a proactive safety culture focused on hazard recognition, prevention, and accountability
Risk Assessment & Compliance
- Lead and maintain risk assessments (JHA/JSA) and environmental aspects and impacts evaluations to identify and control hazards.
- Establish and monitor leading and lagging EHS performance indicators.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Conduct annual compliance evaluations and participate in internal and external audits.
- Serve as the primary site representative for regulatory agencies, including inspections, audits, and compliance communications.
Incident Management & Emergency Response
- Lead all incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and effective corrective actions
- Ensure timely reporting, documentation, and closure of all incidents
- Partner with Human Resources on workers’ compensation case management
- Analyze incident trends to identify systemic risks and drive prevention
- Support alignment of emergency preparedness and response programs at site
Training & Awareness
- Create, maintain, and track EHS training matrices to ensure required training completion.
- Deliver, and ensure completion of all required EHS training programs, including but not limited to:
- New‐hire orientation
- Incident investigation
- Forklift certification
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Emergency response
- Hazard Communication / GHS
- PPE and regulatory training
- Ensure all employees are trained, competent, and aware of their EHS responsibilities and associated risks.
Environmental & Industrial Hygiene
- Manage site environmental compliance programs including hazardous waste, air emissions, and water discharge
- Maintain environmental permits and ensure all required reporting is accurate and submitted on time
- Lead environmental aspects and impacts identification and control measures
- Conduct or coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring (e.g., noise, air quality, chemical exposure)
- Ensure appropriate engineering and administrative controls are implemented to reduce exposure risks
- Maintain and manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical compliance programs
Contractor & Operational Support
- Ensure all contractors meet site EHS requirements, including training, qualification, and compliance verification
- Collaborate with plant leadership and shop‐floor personnel to improve workplace safety and reduce waste.
- Support EHS planning for new projects, launches, and operational changes, including A3 initiatives.
- Serve as an advisor and resource to management on EHS matters.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skill and Education Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of EHS program management experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable environmental and safety regulations.
- Experience with ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 requirements preferred.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills for EHS metrics and performance tracking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, problem‐solving, and time‐management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
- Self‐motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in both office and manufacturing floor environments.
- Moderate noise levels with high plant activity.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and fumes.
- Occasional exposure to environmental conditions related to manufacturing operations.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Authority
- Authority to implement, and enforce all site EHS policies and procedures
- Authority to stop work in the event of unsafe conditions or environmental risk
- Authority to lead incident investigations and require corrective actions
- Authority to conduct audits and enforce compliance requirements
- Authority to represent the site during regulatory inspections and audits
- Authority to escalate unresolved risks to plant leadership
