Job Description

We are looking for a front office receptionist for our fast paced orthopaedic practice. Applicant must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact and communicate well with others. Familiarity with scheduling, insurance knowledge, and EHR (e-clinical works) preferred. Ideal candidates must be well organized and be able to multi-task in a fast paced setting. In addition, applicants must be self-motivated, professional, and dependable.

Essential Functions:

  • Immediately greets and directs patients and visitors promptly and courteously.
  • Maintain an environment conducive to patient comfort and confidentiality
  • Work as part of a team with an emphasis on communication
  • Communicates with Medical Assistants and patients to ensure efficient patient flow through the office
  • Maintain a clean and professional office environment
  • Assist with explaining insurance benefits/coverage with patient
  • Schedules appointments according to scheduling guidelines/templates
  • Registers patients by verifying that patient's records are up to date and accurate
  • Verifies patient demographics and insurance information is entered and correct
  • Prepares and prints clinic super-bills and progress notes in advance
  • Reviews accounts of scheduled patients for balances and expired referrals and addresses with patients for resolution
  • Sends requests for AUTH's/referrals on behalf of patients
  • Collects co-payments and balances from patients and reconciles payment reports on a daily basis
  • Receive and scan medical records, requests, orders, and disability forms. Must scan all pertinent documentation and paperwork into EMR
  • Records patient communications within the EMR and sends to the appropriate Team Member
  • Collection of all new patient paperwork and updated paperwork in a timely manner
  • Ensure patient insurance verifications are completed and communicate with the insurance verification team on an ongoing basis
  • Assist patients with clinic paperwork as needed
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
