Service Technician

About the Position

We are looking for a Full-time Field Service Technician to join our team. This is a busy and exciting role, which involves extensive travel throughout the United States.

Field Service Technicians provide on-site installation, start-up, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of industrial chemical processing equipment . Our technicians will be required to deliver outstanding service and support to our customers in order to keep their equipment/systems operating efficiently.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Install new equipment at our customer’s location
• Educate the client on how to effectively our equipment
• Execute major and minor equipment repairs
• Remove outdated and unused equipment
• Test equipment to ensure proper function
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment
• Build and maintain client and customer relationships
• Order parts needed to complete repairs
• Greater than 75% of domestic traveling (company service vehicle provided)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma, GED, or trade/business school
• Associate Degree or Technical Certification (preferred) in electrical and/or mechanical
• 5+ years field service experience maintaining, repairing and/or installing comparable equipment
• Familiar with all aspects of industrial equipment including but not limited to electrical, pneumatics, fluid flow and field devices/components
• Plastic and/or steel welding experience preferred
• Technical ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and make appropriate repairs
• A strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Must be self-directed, have strong interpersonal skills, and a focus on customer satisfaction
• Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 100lbs, when needed
• Able to work in kneeling, crouching, or bending positions
• Able to work with hand and power tools
• Basic computer skills
• Valid Driver's License (a CDL is NOT required) and a good driving record

AVAILABILITY

• Local to the Canal Fulton area (with in 60 miles)
• Hours of work vary according to work schedules allocated but are mostly travel Monday to Friday. 75% Travel 25% In house.
• Must be available to work beyond usual end time on occasion to complete jobs
• Must be available to be “On Call” and respond to emergency calls a minimum of 58 scheduled days per year.
