We’re searching for a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. In this role, it will be your responsibility to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair our customers issues. You will work directly with our Service Writer and Shop Foreman to gather information about the repairs needed. Then, you will use your expertise to inspect the vehicle and repair or diagnose the issue.

To do well in this role, you will need to be both very knowledgeable about vehicles and have the mechanical skills needed to repair them. You should also be able to demonstrate professionalism in the workplace, as you will be interacting with our clients and fellow employees regularly.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Able to perform preventative maintenance services
  • Proficient in the repair and diagnosis of: electrical systems, interior & exterior bus components, hydraulic systems, air systems, steering systems, HVAC systems, and brakes
  • Proficient in use of hand tools, power tools, and computer software.
  • Basic computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and utilize diagnostic software
  • Be able to provide a detailed written analysis and computer input of the three C’s (complaint, cause, correction) as well as details on any repairs
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job (job requires frequent lifting/moving up to 50lbs, climbing, stooping, kneeling, seeing, grasping, hearing, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance and work in a safe and alert manner
  • Valid driver's license and able to meet insurance requirements (CDL a plus)

  • Your ability to build relationships and solve problems on-site are essential in this role
  • Fix machinery skillfully: Diagnose and repair equipment accurately and promptly in the field or on the customer’s site
  • Perform warranty repairs as needed
  • Use troubleshooting skills: Identify and resolve issues efficiently and independently
  • Deliver top-notch service to customers: Communicate clearly, respectfully, and in a timely manner with customers and management during the repair process
  • Prioritize safety at all times: Follow safety guidelines and procedures
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving technology: Take advantage of company and manufacturer-sponsored training to adapt to changes in technology and learn new skills
  • Keep your field truck tidy and organized: Maintain a clean and efficient work environment
  • Complete service reports and work orders accurately.
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
  • Ability to be on task to meet shop quality and efficiency standards
  • Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications
  • Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems
