We are seeking a caring, dependable, and experienced Infant Teacher to join our organization! This individual will provide nurturing, responsive care while creating a safe and engaging environment that supports each infant’s individual development, routines, and needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, nurturing, and responsive care to infants throughout the day
- Plan and provide age-appropriate activities that support infants’ physical, cognitive, social-emotional, language, and sensory development
- Create a warm, healthy, safe, and engaging classroom environment
- Follow each infant’s individual schedule for feeding, diapering, sleeping, and play
- Maintain accurate daily records, including bottles/meals, diaper changes, naps, activities, and other important information
- Create age-appropriate lesson plans and activities and follow an approved curriculum
- Document developmental observations and track children’s growth and progress in an approved assessment portal
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and staff
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s daily activities, routines, development, and progress
- Maintain a clean and sanitary infant classroom, including proper cleaning and sanitizing of toys, feeding areas, diapering areas, and classroom materials
- Follow safe sleep practices and all health and safety procedures for infant care
- Maintain the health and safety of all children in accordance with PA Child Care Licensing Standards, Caring for Our Children, and Keystone STARS Standards
- Work cooperatively with other classroom teachers and staff to provide consistent, high-quality care
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred
- Must have previous hands-on experience caring for infants in a childcare or early learning setting
- At least 2 years of childcare experience preferred
- Knowledge of infant development, feeding, diapering, safe sleep practices, and age-appropriate activities
- Passionate about providing loving, responsive care to infants
- Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to infants’ individual cues and needs
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Dependable, patient, nurturing, and attentive
- Ability to maintain a high-quality, organized, and safe infant classroom
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
