As a DSP, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to live with greater independence, confidence, and connection within their communities. We are currently hiring for full-time, part-time, and PRN positions.

Key Responsibilities

Personal Care & Health Support

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities such as hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and bathing

  • Support mobility and safe transfers using adaptive equipment

  • Monitor health, document changes, and promote overall wellness

  • Administer medications after completing required training

  • Prepare meals and support proper nutrition and hydration

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy living environment

Community Integration & Skill Development

  • Encourage and support participation in community activities, events, and outings

  • Provide transportation to appointments, work, and daily activities as needed

  • Teach and reinforce life skills such as cooking, budgeting, and personal safety

  • Help individuals achieve personal goals and build confidence in their independence

Leadership & Personal Development

  • Serve as a positive role model through patience, respect, and professionalism

  • Develop leadership skills by guiding, encouraging, and advocating for others

  • Strengthen your ability to problem-solve, communicate effectively, and lead with empathy

  • Take initiative in supporting team success and improving quality of care

Behavioral & Emotional Support

  • Build meaningful relationships that promote trust and emotional well-being

  • Use approved strategies to support behavioral and emotional needs

  • Encourage self-advocacy and empower individuals to make their own choices

Documentation & Professional Standards

  • Complete accurate documentation in compliance with DODD regulations

  • Follow Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and safety protocols

  • Report concerns related to health and safety in a timely manner

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Must be 18+ years old (21+ if transporting individuals)

  • Valid Ohio driver’s license with reliable transportation (if driving)

  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and registry checks

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Experience in caregiving, healthcare, or human services

  • CPR/First Aid certification

  • Medication Administration Certification

  • DSP Certification

Training & Development (Provided)

  • DODD Provider Certification Training

  • Rights of Individuals & Person-Centered Care

  • MUI/UI Awareness and Reporting

  • Infection Control & Safety Procedures

  • Emergency Response Training

Work Environment & Requirements
