Job Title: Construction Inspecting Support Specialist
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Job Type: Full-time, Contract
Duration: Base period (September 2026 to May 2027) plus 4 Option Years
Role Overview: As a Construction Inspecting Support Specialist, you will provide expert technical oversight for the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron (50 CES). You will perform inspections on a variety of complicated structures and infrastructure projects, ensuring all work is executed in strict accordance with prescribed timelines, design drawings, safety guidelines, and engineering principles.
Responsibilities
- On-Site Surveillance: Perform detailed inspections of complex construction projects to verify that materials and workmanship comply with approved plans and specifications.
- Technical Analysis: Monitor schedules, interpret engineering drawings in the field, and proactively identify conflicts between design plans and actual field conditions to recommend necessary changes.
- Compliance & Documentation: Conduct final inspections for project acceptance, Reject non-compliant materials, and maintain detailed records including daily logs, safety observations, and formal inspection reports.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Must possess a degree in Construction Management or Construction Technology AND have at least 3 years of extensive construction or contract-related experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex engineering/architectural plans and a high degree of proficiency in construction industry safety practices and procedures.
- Applied Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of building materials, utilities, and construction trades, supported by a working knowledge of applied mathematics (algebra, geometry, and trigonometry)
Security & Compliance:
- Access: Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check w/Inquiries (NACI) for unescorted entry to restricted military areas.
- Status: Must have legal United States residency and work authorization status
