Team Member (Front Of House - Store Cashier)

About the Role:

Chronic Tacos is seeking self-motivated, hands-on Team Members for our newest Bay Area location in Danville. We provide a fast-paced, social environment where individuality is celebrated. We are looking for dependable individuals to join our founding team and deliver exceptional service from day one.

Responsibilities:

  • Guest Service: Welcome guests, explain menu customizations, and ensure a premium dining experience.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and serve authentic Mexican dishes following 3rd-generation recipes and quality standards.
  • Maintenance: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation and dining area.
  • Upselling: Assist guests with add-ons and catering options to enhance their experience.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a line server or cashier is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient during peak hours.
  • Must have or be able to obtain: California Food Handlers Certification and Responsible Beverage Service Certification.

Desired Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • POS Operation: Using touchscreens and point-of-sale systems quickly.
  • Cash Handling: Counting money, making correct change, and balancing drawers.
  • Product Knowledge: Knowing the menu, items, or store layout to answer questions.
  • Order Accuracy: Entering items correctly so the kitchen or floor gets the right details.
  • Communication: Speaking clearly and listening well to customers.
  • Friendliness: Offering a warm welcome and a positive attitude.
  • Multitasking: Handling long lines, phone calls, or packed lobbies without losing focus.
  • Conflict Resolution: Staying calm and polite when a guest is upset.
  • Stress Tolerance: Working fast and keeping a cool head during busy rushes.
