Senior Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Senior Accountant who can independently manage all accounting work in our CPA firm while leading and supporting junior accounting staff.
This is not only a supervisory position. The Senior Accountant must personally work on client accounts, resolve complicated accounting issues, and finalize books with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Independently handle complete accounting for clients in multiple industries
- Handle our Accounting team members
- Work extensively in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop
- Review, correct, and finalize bookkeeping prepared by junior staff
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Perform bank, credit card, payroll, loan, and intercompany reconciliations
- Prepare adjusting, reclassification, depreciation, and closing journal entries
- Review the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, loans, fixed assets, payroll liabilities, and equity accounts
- Identify and correct errors, misclassifications, duplicate transactions, and unusual balances
- Ensure books are accurate, tax-ready, and audit-ready
- Prepare year-end workpapers and schedules for tax return preparation
- Communicate directly with clients to obtain information and resolve accounting questions
- Lead, train, and support junior accounting staff
- Manage multiple client files and complete work within deadlines
Requirements
- Minimum5-6 years of strong, hands-on accounting experience
- Experience in Handling Team
- Experience handling complete accounting and finalization of books
- Advanced experience with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop
- Strong knowledge of U.S. accounting and financial statements
- Ability to independently handle complicated client accounts
- Ability to review staff work while also completing accounting work personally
- Strong Excel, analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
- CPA firm experience is strongly preferred
- English communication skills are required
- English and Hindi bilingual skills are preferred
- Must work from our office
We are primarily looking for practical experience, strong accounting knowledge, leadership ability, and the capability to manage all accounting functions of a CPA firm.
Candidates with only data-entry or basic bookkeeping experience will not be suitable for this position.
