Instructional Assistant Special Education

The Instructional Assistant Special Education supports educators in delivering specialized instruction and tailored learning experiences to students with diverse learning needs. This role plays a crucial part in fostering an inclusive educational environment that promotes student development, independence, and academic success.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Support students during classroom activities and transitions
• Reinforce learning through one-on-one or small group instruction
• Monitor and document student progress and behavior
• Collaborate with educators and specialists to adapt materials and strategies
• Help maintain a positive and safe learning environment
• Provide personal care assistance as needed for students with disabilities
• Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and staff regarding student needs

Class sizes average 10-12 students with a 1:6 student-teacher ratio.
