Job Description

The Director of Guidance Engagement leads Team Grateful's community guidance and mentorship programs, building meaningful relationships with participants, partners, and stakeholders. This leader serves as the bridge between the organization's mission and the individuals it serves, championing dignity, empowerment, and lasting change at every touchpoint.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic community engagement and guidance programs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, and service providers to expand the organization's reach and impact.
  • Oversee mentorship and counseling support initiatives, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed service delivery.
  • Design and lead outreach events, community forums, and engagement activities that center participant voices.
  • Supervise guidance engagement staff and volunteers, providing coaching, feedback, and professional development.
  • Assess participant needs and connect individuals and families to appropriate internal and external resources.
  • Track program outcomes, collect data, and prepare comprehensive impact reports for organizational leadership.
  • Represent Team Grateful at community meetings, public events, and stakeholder convenings.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other directors to align engagement strategies with broader organizational priorities.
  • Cultivate a culture of belonging, empowerment, and dignity for all participants, staff, and community members.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in community engagement, guidance, social services, or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to build authentic relationships across diverse populations and communities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a collaborative, people-first approach.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
