Hospital Pharmacist | Community Hospital | Day Shift

Full-time, permanent Hospital Pharmacist opportunity with a well-established community hospital in northwest Iowa.

This position offers an excellent balance of clinical and operational pharmacy in a collaborative, patient-focused environment. You'll work closely with physicians, nursing, and the healthcare team while enjoying a consistent day-shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense medications safely and accurately
• Serve as a clinical resource for providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in antibiotic stewardship initiatives
• Perform pharmacokinetic dosing, including vancomycin monitoring
• Compound sterile IV medications
• Participate in Pharmacy & Therapeutics activities
• Manage medication distribution systems and automated dispensing cabinets
• Participate in code blue, trauma, and rapid response events during business hours
• Provide scheduled after-hours hospital call

Schedule

• Consistent day shift schedule
• No routine weekend shifts unless you choose to participate in the retail rotation
• Hospital call every third weekend plus one weeknight each week
• Most after-hours calls can be handled remotely, with only occasional need to report to the hospital

Qualifications

• PharmD or RPh
• Active pharmacist license (or ability to obtain licensure)
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
