Job Overview

As a Part-Time/Full-Time Sales Associate at G & T Reichert's, you are the face of a local legacy. Unlike big-box retail, we focus on building lifelong relationships with our clients. You will guide customers through some of their most significant life moments, providing expert product knowledge and warm, personalized service.

Whether you are helping a first-time buyer pick out an engagement ring or assisting a long-time regular with a jewelry repair, your goal is to provide a high-end experience that feels like home.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and engage with enthusiasm to understand their jewelry needs and preferences
• Assist customers in selecting jewelry pieces, offering detailed product information and styling advice
• Manage POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
• Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively explain features, benefits, and care instructions for jewelry pieces
• Consultative Sales: Listen to customer needs and provide thoughtful recommendations across our collections of fine jewelry, diamonds, and watches.
• Operational Excellence: Assist with daily opening/closing procedures, including the careful setup and breakdown of secure jewelry displays.
• Quality Control: Intake jewelry repairs and custom design requests, ensuring all details are documented accurately for our goldsmiths.
• Merchandising: Ensure all showcases are clean, properly lit, and beautifully organized.

Skills

• Proven experience in retail sales, preferably within jewelry or luxury goods environments
• You possess a warm, professional demeanor and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
• High level of trustworthiness and attention to detail when handling high-value inventory.
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings
• Excellent phone etiquette with clear, friendly communication skills
• Proficiency with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate transactions and cash handling
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to upsell products tactfully
• Knowledge of merchandising techniques, stock management, and product demos
• Basic math skills for daily sales calculations and inventory management
• Availability to work some Saturdays and increased hours during peak holiday seasons (Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and December).
