Job Description
Specializes as a Medical Assistant.
General purpose:
Responsible for completing various medical/administrative-related tasks in support of the medical provider.
Responsibilities:
- Assisted with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; checked in patients; assisted in obtaining patient histories; took vital signs; prepared charts; and assisted with medical examinations.
- Maintains stocks of medical supplies as necessary in the exam rooms.
- Interview patients and record information, including a week of pregnancy, if applicable, and document on patients' charts.
- Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues within established parameters.
- Practices safety, environmental, and infection control methods.
- Performs standing orders as approved by the department, policy, and procedures.
- Prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients.
- Works and completes tasks in the electronic medical record system promptly.
- Translate when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant certificate or training.
- BLS/CPR Certification.
- 0-3 years of experience in a related field.
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish/Creole).
This is a full-time position, minimum 40 hr./week required. Standard shift is Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may be adjusted to start earlier or end later based on unit needs. Center is open on Saturdays, but Saturday assignments are scheduled in advance on a rotating basis.
Miami Beach Community Health Center has 3 locations. You will be assigned a primary work location but will be asked to provide coverage at any of the three sites as needed. Please note the location addresses below.
