Piano and Voice Teacher Openings
Job Description
The Paul Michael School of Music (est. 2010) is looking for professional, friendly and skilled musicians to fill its growing demand for Piano and Voice instruction. While this listing advertises both openings, candidates do not need to be multi-instrumentalists (although it is a great attribute to have as we teach all instruments).
We provide in-home lessons in the Main Line, Philadelphia and South Jersey. At this time, we have an immediate need in the Main Line. Teachers must have a reliable car and be able to commit to a full school year (September through June).
We provide a teacher training program so it's not a problem if you do not have teaching experience.
Starting pay is between $34-$40 depending on experience and credentials, as well as $2 per trip compensation (i.e. if you have two 30 minute lessons in a row, that adds $4/hr). Our school consists of 13 teachers and we have grown every year. The majority of teachers at the school have been teaching at the school for over 6 years which I credit to competitive pay raises and a supportive and easy to work with work culture.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in music, or have at least 8 years of study with a teacher.
The Paul Michael School of Music has been providing in-home music lessons since 2010. Students have gone on to earn scholarships at schools such as Berklee, Temple and UArts, NYU, Vangard University, as well as earn spots in Broadway Musicals such as School of Rock. What we are most proud of is our students who develop a lifelong outlet of expression. Many students of the school continue lessons all the way through college.
