Job Description

Job Description

CFI Marketing is hiring a Product Data Specialist to own the fulfillment of client product data projects from start to finish. The role blends hands-on product data work, client project communication, and production scheduling, with an AI-assisted workflow handling the most repetitive tasks so you can focus on judgment and coordination.

About CFI Marketing

CFI Marketing is a marketing agency built exclusively for the foodservice equipment and supplies industry. For roughly 40 years we have served dealers, distributors, re-distributors, broadliners, and manufacturers across the country. We are now growing a data services business that cleans, enriches, and standardizes manufacturer product data for clients throughout the industry, and this role sits right at the center of that growth.

The Opportunity

This is the person who owns the fulfillment of our data projects from start to finish. You will schedule the work, communicate with clients about their projects, complete and quality-check the data, and keep overlapping projects on track so nothing stalls or collides. We are launching an AI-assisted workflow that automates the most repetitive parts of the work and handles all software development, which frees you to focus on judgment, coordination, and client communication.

This is a specialist role with room to grow. We are looking for someone who is sharp, systems-minded, and hungry to master this work and become the person our clients and team rely on. We are building this business, and we want someone who wants to build it with us. As the data services team grows, the right person will have the opportunity to own larger client relationships, take on broader responsibility, and help shape how the work gets done. If you are detail-obsessed, organized, comfortable talking to clients, and eager to build something, this is a rare chance to get in at the ground floor of a growing business.

Responsibilities

  • Keep clients informed on project updates and next steps
  • Join client kickoff meetings alongside the Operations Director to understand each new project's scope and requirements
  • Drive the production schedule for data projects, sequencing incoming catalogs and managing overlapping timelines so work stays on track
  • Map incoming product data to client spreadsheet templates, aligning each attribute to the correct field and standardizing formats.
  • Load and manage product content in data syndication platforms such as 1WorldSync
  • Review AI-generated product data for accuracy, consistency, and completeness before it reaches the client
  • Handle exceptions and flagged records that the automated workflow cannot resolve on its own
  • Manually source missing product information such as dimensions, specifications, images, and attributes from manufacturer websites, spec sheets, and catalogs
  • Flag workflow issues clearly and suggest improvements rather than quietly working around them

Qualifications

Must-haves

  • Exceptional attention to detail. You notice the mismatched unit, the wrong category, the spec that does not add up.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills in Excel or Google Sheets, including lookups, sorting, filtering, and working comfortably with large files.
  • Comfort working with structured product data and a feel for how product attributes, categories, and specifications fit together.
  • Systems-minded and technically curious. You are comfortable learning and working within data platforms and tools such as product information management (PIM) and syndication systems, and you pick up new software quickly. (Our AI partner handles all software development, so you will not be coding.)
  • Comfort reviewing and correcting AI-generated data, catching what the automation gets wrong.
  • Strong organization and the ability to juggle multiple projects at once without dropping threads. You can look at a stack of incoming work and figure out what gets done when.
  • Comfort communicating directly with clients in a clear, professional, and responsive way.
  • Resourceful research skills. You can run down missing information without needing your hand held.
  • Process discipline. You follow the workflow faithfully and speak up clearly when something breaks.
  • A genuine drive to grow into a bigger role.

Nice to have (we will teach you the rest)

  • Familiarity with foodservice equipment and supplies, or experience at a dealer, distributor, or manufacturer
  • Hands-on exposure to a PIM system or data syndication such as GDSN or 1WorldSync
  • Experience coordinating projects or managing a production schedule

Notably

  • This is an in-office role, with 1 day a week remote (Wednesdays)
