Coatings Inspector

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and technical inspections of coating systems pre- and post-application
• Verify surface preparation compliance (ISO 8501, SSPC standards)
• Inspect coating thickness using gage measurements (DFT)
• Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports
• Ensure adherence to project specifications and industry standards (NACE, ASTM, ISO)
• Communicate findings to project managers, contractors, and clients
• Maintain inspection records and quality documentation
• Recommend corrective actions for non-conformances

Required Qualifications

• NACE Level 2 Certification (Coating Inspector) – current and valid
• Minimum 3–5 years of coatings inspection experience
• Proficiency with inspection equipment (DFT gages, surface profile gages, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of coating standards (NACE, SSPC, ISO 12944, ASTM D3276)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work at heights and in industrial environments (when applicable)
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• NACE Level 3 Certification or higher
• Experience with QAQC software and digital reporting tools
• Familiarity with API, ASME, or other industry-specific standards
• Experience in oil & gas, marine, infrastructure, or manufacturing sectors
• Bilingual capabilities
