Job Title: Dental/Lab Assistant

Job Summary: As Dental/Lab Assistant, you are responsible for delivering excellent and timely customer service to patients while also maintaining the production schedule of the denture lab. This role combines both patient/clinical and laboratory support in one role, allowing you to interact with all the workings of maintaining a denture office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide a welcoming and warm environment for patients
  • Escort patients to and from their rooms and the lobby and seat them accordingly
  • Take chart photos for new patients
  • Communicate with patients regarding denture comfort and adjustment needs at the start of the appointment
  • Communicate with denturists regarding patient updates
  • Clean and flip rooms after each appointment to prepare them for the following patients in a timely order
  • Keep track of denture mills and ensure cases are completed in a timely manner prior to patient delivery dates
  • Mix acrylic and pour up denture cases to prepare for milling
  • Maintain milling machines and address tool errors, sprayer cleaning, and coolant levels
  • Support office staff by answering phone calls, scheduling patients, making patient appointment reminders, and responding to patient inquiries
  • Utilize Dental software to update patient records and manage scheduling
  • Check in/ check out patients including taking patient payments and coordinating payment plans if needed, verifying insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Maintain a sterile and organized clinical environment in compliance with healthcare standards including the cleaning and sanitization of impressions trays, retractors, and mirrors
  • At the end of the day, prepare rooms for the start of the following day
  • Maintain readiness in the clinic by keeping track of materials and restocking supplies as needed
