Our client, a Global Leader in the Consumer Appliance Industry has an immediate opening for a Electronics Lab Technician for a 12 Month Contract. This position is in our clients North America within Edgewater Tech Center, focused on tech lab support for cooking specifically. 150 people at ETC. 50 electronics, 100 Engineers. Lab Tech supports cooking electronics. 3 – 4 large labs. The tech will be living inside the lab. Anything that needs to be taken apart, running experiments, working with the Design Team. The Design team will be coming to the labs. 2 big projects, a new line and new slide in range. Two big cooking initiatives. Working on wall ovens, ranges or induction.


Day to Day Duties:

  • Assembly of electronics control boards & cable assemblies
  • Soldering electronics parts for control boards and cables
  • Programming/Reflashing electronic control boards using digital programmers
  • Building custom electronics cables/harnesses for development & testing
  • Troubleshooting electronic and mechanical failures of control boards and wiring assemblies using multimeters, scopes & probes
  • Mechanical assembly of electronics parts into appliances/housings, like gluing parts to frames, mounting, attaching to metal plates
  • Reading electronic schematics
  • Filling out electronics test reports in spreadsheet applications

Must have skills:

  • Prefer 2 year degree & 2 years experience or 3 to 4 year degree & no experience
  • Assembly of Electronics & Mechanical Parts (includes programming digital controls)
  • Electronics Troubleshooting (includes using multimeters, scopes, probes, etc.)
  • Electronics Soldering (willing to teach)
  • Client has a training program and will upskill contractors.
  • Basic computer skills for accessing project/product documentation repositories
  • Using a spreadsheet application to run test plans & report results
  • Using a computer for programming/erasing Flash Memory devices (JTAG interfaces)
  • Finding/viewing/printing electronic schematics in PDF format
