Deburring & Finishing Tech
Job Description
As a Precision Deburring & Finishing Technician , you will join our Production team as a key part of the final production stage, converting raw machined parts into finished, high-quality components. Every day, you will use manual lathes, media deburrers, and specialized hand tools to eliminate imperfections, heavy burrs, and foreign materials, ensuring every piece meets our strict quality requirements. Beyond your primary finishing duties, this role also includes operating CNC machinery as needed to support production, under the direction of senior team members.
Day to day activities:
%CF; Ensure the final quality, cleanliness, surface finish, and heat treatment of components using manual methods and finishing machines, including Bel-Air part finishing machines, rotary deburr tools, manual deburr tools (files, scrapers, chamfering bits, etc.), benchtop abrasive wheels, Biocircle cleaning sinks, ultrasonic tanks, and vibratory tumbling machines
%CF; Operate simple heat treat ovens under the direction of senior team members on batches of parts after the deburring and cleaning process
%CF; Operate CNC machinery as needed under the direct supervision and direction of senior team members
%CF; Read and interpret blueprints to confirm parts meet specification
%CF; Use microscopes and visual inspection equipment to identify imperfections
%CF; Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with 5S standards
Required Skills:
%CF; High school diploma or equivalent
%CF; A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
%CF; Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints
%CF; Experience with various materials, including metals and plastics
%CF; Ability to use microscopes and visual inspection equipment
%CF; Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
%CF; Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move objects up to 50 pounds
%CF; Manual dexterity and coordination for operating machinery and using precision tools
%CF; Good vision, including the ability to see small details and differentiate colors
Preferred skills:
%CF; Experience or exposure to 5S and Kaizen methodologies
%CF; Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace
Working Conditions:
%CF; Work is performed in a manufacturing shop environment
%CF; Exposure to noise, dust, oils, and coolants is expected
%CF; Safety gear, including eye protection and steel-toed boots, is required at all times; proper PPE is provided for all working conditions listed
