POSITION SUMMARY
Hearts Alive Village is seeking a Veterinary Clinic Front Receptionist with strong customer service skills and the ability to engage the community in our mission. As a veterinary receptionist, you must be able to provide excellent customer care in accordance with Clinic policy and promote gold standard medical care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
A Veterinary Clinic Front Receptionist must be able to, effectively and accurately, perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:
- Record all pertinent medical, client, and case related information in the patient record accurately, with appropriate grammar.
- Review medical records, estimates or discharge instructions with clients.
- May be asked to assist with animals (minimal contact)
- Provide client care for scheduling appointments, taking payments and checking in clients.
- Answer high volume calls in a courteous and informative manner.
- Assist in all daily duties for clinic care and ensuring protocol is met for clinic sanitation.
- Perform equipment maintenance as directed
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb - as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50lbs.
- Endure sitting, standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods
QUALIFICATIONS
- Compassion and sensitivity: Ability to be sensitive to an ill pet, as well as its concerned owner.
- Customer service skills: Ability to provide friendly, efficient service to patients in-person, as well as on the phone.
- Interpersonal skills: Ability to feel comfortable dealing with patients, staff, and others.
- Technology skills: Ability to operate office technology such as computers, payment processors and printers.
- Mental and physical stamina: Ability to stay calm when handling a nervous, defensive animal while maintaining professionalism with the client.
- Organizational skills: Ability to manage office operations such as taking messages, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient files.
- Ability to be confident around pets
- Able to work in potentially noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment.
