Wood Electrical Services is a Family-Owned Business that has been in the Electrical Contracting business for over 50 years in the near Northwest Houston area.
Our Valued Customers base is with Multi-Family, Residential, High Rise Condo’s, Commercial and Manufacturing businesses.
Wood Electrical Services is looking for an experienced electrician who can handle service work, troubleshooting, repairs, and small projects. This position will also require being part of an after-hours on-call rotation, approximately every other week as needed.
Experience with 4160–7200 voltage is preferred, but not required.
Job Responsibilities
The electrician will be responsible for:
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues in multi-family, commercial, and light manufacturing properties
- Working on electrical systems up to 480 volts
- Installing and repairing conduit, MC cable, PVC, Romex, wiring, fixtures, panels, and related electrical components
- Completing service calls in a timely and professional manner
- Preparing basic material lists and job notes when needed
- Running small jobs, including keeping track of materials, crew time, and job progress
- Helping train and guide apprentices or less-experienced electricians
- Following all safety rules and making sure work is done properly and safely
- Completing daily job/service paperwork accurately and on time
- Communicating professionally with customers, property managers, and office staff
- Walking the job with the customer when finished, when needed, to make sure the work is complete
- Being available for after-hours emergency calls as part of the on-call schedule
- Lifting up to 50 lbs when needed
- Working from ladders, lifts, and other equipment
- Reading work orders, job instructions, maps, and verbal directions
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned
Motor control and high-voltage experience is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
- Texas Journeyman Electrician License
- At least 5 years of electrical experience preferred
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory and National Electrical Code requirements
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and coworkers
- Dependable attendance and strong safety record
- Must maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Must wear company shirts, approved work pants, and steel-toed boots
